Job summary:

Forestry & Land Scotland (FLS) became an Agency of Scottish Government on 1st April 2019. Our people work in a broad range of roles that allows us to manage Scotland's forests and land.

We have a talented and dedicated workforce, providing forests and land that Scotland can be proud of and our People Team support the people who look after the Forests and Land by providing expert people management support for all.


As part of the wider People Team, the Talent, Resourcing and Recruitment team engage with the organisation on continuous improvement and implementation of end to end operational recruitment, workforce planning and talent management processes with the purpose of delivering a progressive resourcing strategy that contributes to our corporate objectives.


As an Executive Agency of Scottish Government (SG), we also work closely with SG colleagues in HR, Resourcing and Security too.


Job description:


To be successful in this role, you'll be comfortable managing a high volume of work and have the confidence and personality to communicate effectively with managers at all levels.

You'll require excellent organisational skills and be confident in using Microsoft packages.


A key part of this role is forming positive working relationships with colleagues across the business, so strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act with integrity and observe confidentiality are essential.


Person specification:


Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering administrative duties;
  • Experience of communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience of working to set timescales and deadlines;
  • Experience of managing and responding to mailbox enquiries

Desirable:

  • Experience of supporting recruitment campaigns including undertaking preemployment checks and onboarding;
  • Experience of working within an HR environment of a Civil or Public Sector organisation.

Technical

Essential:

  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, with focus of Word, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using an Applicant Tracking System.
