Compensation
Salary dependent on experience

Assistant level £20k-£29k

Elsby & Co has an opportunity for a motivated and talented individual who is looking to further their professional career in Payroll.

As a Payroll Assistant who is ready for progression, you will be working from one of our Rushden offices.


You will be responsible for processing weekly, bi-weekly, four-weekly, and monthly payroll, calculating HMRC and pension deductions, submitting RTI with the team to the greatest level of accuracy for our clients and handling employee and contractor queries.


Main responsibilities for the role will be:

  • Full payroll process from start to finish
  • Processing starters and leavers for clients
  • Setting up pension schemes
  • Liaising with HMRC
  • Data inputting
  • Managing client queries
  • Timesheet reviews
  • Adhoc admin support to the payroll function
  • Ensuring all payrolls are completed accurately and on time
  • Ensuring that all relevant outputs and reports are produced accurately
  • Processing holiday pay requests and expenses
  • Assist with ad hoc payroll projects as required.

Requirements:


Skills & attributes required:

  • Experience of working within a payroll department for an Accountancy Practice essential
  • Experience in CIS
  • Experience working with multiple clients and handling complex client payrolls
  • Experience dealing with SSP, SMP, SPP and auto enrolment
  • Organised and able to prioritise own workload
  • Able to work in a paperless environment
  • Excellent attention to detail; and professional written & spoken manner
  • Experience with SAGE Payroll
