Apprenticeship programme


During this Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering programme, we will help you to develop your practical skills and knowledge required for you to succeed in this role as well as your future career.

In the next 48 months, you will continue to develop your behaviourssuch as team working, problem-solving and customer focus.


As well as gaining a broad range of technical and professional knowledge and experience, you'll also gain academic and vocational qualifications such as SVQ Level 2 and 3, NC with a possibility of then progressing to an HNC Level.


What will you be doing?
The successful individual will work closely alongside the maintenance team in order to improve the reliability of the site

Working alongside other technicians you will:

  • Learn how to safely install, maintain and repair electrical equipment and systems in an industrial environment.
  • Learn what safety measures are to be applied and learn from fellow craftsmen.
  • Learn the techniques, practices and behaviours required with the ultimate aim to become a professional timeserved electrical craftsman.

Due to the working environment, the individual may be expected to work in dirty environments as well as potentially working in all weather conditions, at height and in confined spaces.

What are we looking for?

  • 4 National 5's or above such as Maths/ English/ Science or Tech Studies and/or a relevant NC qualification
  • Enthusiastic team members with a natural interest and aptitude for engineering
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • A logical thinker and attention to detail
