This role will support the Head of Façade Engineering by ensuring the running and maintaining high standards of excellence throughout the façade delivery process on Sir Robert McAlpine projects.

The Senior Façade Engineering role

You will manage all aspects of a façade package from estimating and tender stage, through design development, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and client handover.

You will ensure that design specifications and methodology are thoroughly reviewed for buildability, safety and maintainability and sustainability.

Responsibilities include:

Implementing SRM processes for the control of design, procurement and installation at relevant project stages and ensuring regular and complete progress reporting of the same.
Complete technical review of tender documents relating to façade engineering and identify design and commercial risks and opportunities and associated mitigations.
To ensure effective implementation of SRM management systems and procedures.
Contribute to the production of the façade package design and procurement programme.
Identify and agree the required deliverables and ensure effective processes are in place for reporting design, procurement, production, and installation progress.
Contribute to the procurement process, including scope definition and agree and expedite the design team's package deliverables. Review returns for compliance, buildability, quality, and value engineering opportunities.
To overview, monitor and drive the subcontractor design, manufacture, and installation process, regularly reporting on status and specific critical matters.
To introduce innovative ideas or implement design proposals coming from within the business and from the workforce.
To plan the programming of the daily resource requirement and communicate these to the construction team.
Contribute to the contract review process (including Technical Governance Reviews).

Your profile
You will ideally have;
- a relevant Engineering Bachelor degree or equivalent plus IEng or CEng or equivalent
- good knowledge of Facades and practical experience to consistently perform the required tasks in a range of contexts
- knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- extensive post qualification experience working as a Façade Engineer
- a motivated attitude with the ability to consider the bigger picture, be collaborative and aim to get the best out of people plus the ability to challenge the status quo.
