Role Overview


We are currently recruiting for a Security Control Room / CCTV Operator to join our passionate and driven Security team based at our client's modern office in Bury St Edmunds.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Monitoring and responding to calls and requests from all Client locations and staff
  • Manning The Control Room Phone Line
  • Answering Calls from our officers out in the field, clients, operation managers and any other third party that is in need of assistance
  • Monitoring all site CCTV system cameras and alarms and responding as required in line with procedures


  • Staff Welfare

  • Conduct regular checks on lone workers in the field


  • Data Management

  • Collating and processing staffing data, as required


  • Sourcing Cover

  • Obtaining Staffing resources as the result of an officer not turning up to shift
  • Identify any potential security vulnerabilities and escalate accordingly. Ensure that all sites are always secure
  • Understand the escalation procedures relating to issues or incidents and know when to escalate or deal locally
  • Report to the Control Room Supervisor any incident outside of your experience or control and follow all actions and issues as required
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of all systems in use in the Control Room
  • Carry out daily equipment checks to ensure system serviceability and escalate any faults identified to the appropriate service partner
  • Receive outofhours calls from the client Helpdesk and escalate as required in line with procedures
  • Assisting with contract scheduling and ensuring manning levels


  • Incident Reporting

  • Liaising with clients regarding onsite incidents, following escalation processes and procures, as necessary
  • Support security gate operatives by dealing quickly and effectively with all Access Control issues raised and troubleshooting access issues
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required
  • Produce highquality Reports relating to all Incidents in a timely manner

About You:


  • Experience in CCTV monitoring or Control Room operations (experience from an Emergency Response Control Room is desirable)
  • Agile and effective in responding quickly to situations
  • Computer literate with a variety of software, including Microsoft Office and bespoke software packages
  • Solid organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and achieve tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail, the ability to work strategically and think one step ahead will be essential
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Word & Excel
  • Ability to accurately follow detailed processes
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a strong teamwork ethic
  • A positive attitude and ability to deal with pressure professionally
  • A highly motivated individual
