The hours
This is a permanent contract, working 39 hours a week, Mon
  • Fri with some flexibility to work occasional weekends at busy times. Hours of work are usually 7am pm,
with 30-minute paid break at 10am. Based at Wash Barn, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU.


_Please note we are based in a rural location with no immediate access to public transport and we are not able to offer accommodation, so you must have your own means of transportation to reach the farm.

What you'll be doing


We are looking for a tractor driver who can use their experience and judgment to deliver excellent driving skills and provide high standards of work at all times.

It is essential that you possess a full Category B licence or above. You will have experience of driving and manoeuvring loaded vehicles in difficult conditions and locations. Other duties will include vehicle checks, routine maintenance, cleaning, transporting goods and completing the associated paperwork.


Although you will be working as part of a team, you will need to be self-motivated, able to use your initiative and solve problems when they arise.

Ideally you will come to the role with a good understanding of health and safety and always ensure that you operate in a safe and respectful manner around the farm.


In the winter months when we are quieter, there will be various maintenance tasks on a variety of agricultural machinery and polytunnels.


What we're looking for

  • Essential to be competent in driving large machinery, with knowledge of setting up and adjusting equipment to achieve the desired standard
  • A degree of mechanical knowledge will be expected
  • Pa1, and Pa2 spray certificates are desirable, along with forklift truck certificates. But training can be provided
  • It is essential that you possess a full Category B licence or above.
