Description

Our busy Emergency Department is currently seeking a Rota Co-Ordinator who will provide day to day co-ordination of the medical rotas and form part of the admin team.

The administration team provide vital support to our patients and clinical staff.

If you have good communication skills, work well under pressure, have good clerical and keyboard skills and enjoy working in a team environment, then we would like to hear from you.

Provide a comprehensive range of rota administrative support to the Emergency Department's Medical Staffing Manager/Admin Manager

Support the clinicians with regards to rota queries and leave.

Liaising with medical staff, secretaries and admin staff across the directorate to ensure appropriate cover is provided.

Inputting medical staff leave onto the clinical rota systems

Maintain Locums Nest for locum cover required.

To provide cover during Medical Staffing Managers Leave.

  • Strong communication skills needed
  • Sensitive to personal details and timeliness of dealing with communication issues
  • Able to develop mutually respectful relationships with medical and management team.
  • Facilitate effective communication with the management team/clinical team by providing team members with relevant messages and information.
  • Assist in organisation and maintenance of rotas for clinicians.
  • Communicate appropriately with a range of people at different levels of the organisation.
  • Assist the team with seeking alternative solutions on rotas during periods of short term sickness/absence and compensatory rest to ensure maintenance of a safe service and ensure that European work time Directive (EWTD) maximum hours of working are not breached by checking any changes in shift patterns through the relevant IT system.
  • Can extract information and manipulate to identify safe solutions.
  • Adaptable to shifting demands and availability of staff to maintain service provision.
  • Alongside Medical Staffing Manager deal with or escalate as appropriate complex issues that require resolution as instructed by clinicians when applicable.
