The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a great opportunity for an Industry Member Engagement Executive to join us on an eighteen-month fixed-term contract basis.

The role:


As an Industry Member Engagement Executive for the Royal Society of Chemistry, you will develop and deliver innovative activities that engage our industry audience with the activities of the RSC.

Much of this will be achieved through planned marketing campaigns,use of internal support systems and effective communication with the audience.

Core to delivering our membership growth strategy, is the enhancement and development of the membership offer for industry. This large audience covers all career stages and diverse sectors each with varying needs. You will support the development and deliveryof innovative benefits and services that engage with our industry audiences.

By gaining a firm understanding of the audience types and needs, you will support across the organisation to deliver a cohesive offer to members in industry.

Our goal to grow ourmembership and company accreditation, across industry requires you to develop and deliver engaging recruitment activities highlighting the benefits of membership and professional awards.


You will also support partnerships and collaborations with other membership bodies or organisations, to enhance the value of membership and cultivate relationships with key contacts within industry, and across the organization to ensure the membership valueproposition for industry continues to develop and remain relevant.


What we are looking for:


  • A degree in the chemical sciences.
  • Able to build and maintain productive working relationships inside and outside the organisation to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Able to influence and communicate effectively both orally and in writing, provide reasoned opinion and objective advice and to deliver effective recruitment talks and influence joining decisions.
  • Experience in, and an understanding of, a customer focused environment.
  • Able to make informed assessments and analysis and communicate these alongside a proactive approach to solving problems and developing novel approaches and initiatives, with an ability to plan organise and implement these whilst balancing and prioritisingacross multiple projects.
  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours.


The contractual base for this role is our Cambridge office, however we are currently embracing hybrid working, and therefore you will also have the opportunity to work from a UK location other than this, as agreed with your line manager.

Applicants shouldbe aware that there is an expectation that employees will regularly attend the offices and travel as necessary for this role.
