Just a Drop is an international development charity working to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to communities in need, transforming lives.

Our safe water projects have benefitted over 1.9 million people across 31 countries since we began in 1998.

We're looking for a confident, positive self-starter motivated to take the initiative across a varied and interesting workload.

Working in the highly committed and professional Fundraising and Communications team, the Fundraising Officer will provide support to the team and take responsibility for certain areas of work.


The role is an an important and valued role within the organisation, with the opportunity to make a huge impact on our development.

We've grown by 55% over the past two years and forecast further growth in the years to come.

  • Take responsibility for the development of our Tap Water for All campaign, working closely with colleagues
  • Develop and take responsibility for proposals to trusts and foundations, with support from the Head of Fundraising and Communications
  • Research companies and support the Head of Fundraising and Communications and the Partnerships and Events Manager with prospecting research for new business
  • Support the Partnership and Events Manager with event logistics of our current portfolio
  • Provide support for the development of Salesforce
  • Provide support across the Just a Drop Fundraising and Communications team, across a range of tasks, helping us to grow our income
  • Provide admin support which is important to the effective running of Just a Drop, such as minuting of trustee meetings
  • Any other duties relevant to the role

Person specification

Skills and abilities:

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the charity sector would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • Experience of using Canva would be desirable

Personal attributes:

  • Flexible attitude to working on a variety of projects and different areas
  • An ability to use initiative, a selfstarter, with a can do attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills
  • Positive and friendly outlook
  • Able to undertake occasional travel, with out of hours work
  • Confident
  • Motivated
