Description
The role is responsible for the manufacturing, service, repair and calibration of QED's extensive range of Environmental Monitoring instrumentation and associated spares/accessories
The position reports to the Production and Service Team Leader and Operations Manager.
Production and Service technicians are expected to act in the company's interest at all times.
The role is based in QED's Coventry Manufacturing and Service Facility.


Main Functions/Responsibilities:


Effectively undertake the manufacturing, service, repair and calibration of goods, in accordance with QED's extensive procedures to deliver the highest possible level of quality.

Work is to be undertaken both efficiently and safely, performing to expected standard processing times and costs.
Maintain a positive and motivated approach to company-based activities/processes.
Contribute effectively to team activities and initiatives.
Communicate with clarity to all internal stakeholders to ensure any issues are identified and resolved promptly.

Proactively identify opportunities for improvement across all of our operations, where quality, cost, customer or employee satisfaction are the primary beneficiaries.

Engage actively in cross-training in multiple disciplines as part of the organisation's intent to have a highly skilled and trained workforce.

This might be cross-training between departments also.
Liaise with other departments as and when required.


Position Requirements:

Academic qualification(s) AND/OR extensive experience working (5 years+ is desirable) in an electronic assembly or servicing position.
Ability to work under own initiative, often unsupervised.
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly and repair experience and capabilities.
Excellent eye for detail.
Effective communication skills.
Able to work effectively to defined process and work instructions, doing so safely.
A team player, who is happy to support others, when needed.
Ability to embrace and support change, which might be cross-department, demonstrating a strong team-ethic.
