Essential skills

  • Proven commercial skills to complete successful discussions with potential clients
  • Experience in service/relationship sales and marketing services
  • Negotiation skills Experience managing a team
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, accurate note taking, originate documents with mínimal grammar and spelling mistakes
  • Present confidently as part of a pitch team
  • Content marketing skills
  • Create and implement marketing strategies
  • Selfmotivated and resilient
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable skills

  • Order (contract) writing skills
  • Leadership, management and accountability (LMA) skills to get the most from a small business development team
  • Understanding of data protection and contract law
  • Social Media, website content management skills, design and origination of digital content (Adobe Creative Cloud, After Effects, In-Design, Photoshop) necessary for undertaking digital/social media work
  • Copywriting skills
  • Google Analytics (usage and an ability to explain the intelligence gathered from using it)
  • Ability to write good articles/excellent sales copy
  • A CIM qualification, currently undertaking a CIM qualification, or similar experience.
Availability

  • Available to attend networking events in regional centres (e.g. occasional evenings in London) and to travel to the USA to attend conferences and networking events
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends/out of hours, or work evenings when work in different time zones necessitate
  • Located within 30 minutes travelling time of Cranfield, with a clean UK driver's license.

Main purpose of role


This is a 'hands on' role where you will use a wide range of your skills to market the company, primarily in the UK and USA.

The main purpose of this role is to be:

  • Accountable for sales and pipeline management to sell outstanding client feedback solutions
  • Working collaboratively with account managers and other team leaders
  • Communicate and demonstrate our services and software, and the features and benefits of what we provide
  • Lead and motivate/manage staff involved in sales and marketing (a team of 2, increasing to 3 including this role).
Sales

  • Sell our client feedback solutions through personal engagement with potential clients
  • Provide Microsoft Teams demonstrations of our CustomServe software
  • Collect and manage information/content held within the CRM system to assist with strategic sales management Participate in sales meetings and training sessions
  • Order (contract) drafting
  • Provide informative visit/event reports within 24 hours of the activity/visit/event to the Commercial Director.
Connecting with new clients

  • Update our website content so that our rankings improve and remain high, and use Google Analytics to monitor progress, coordinate use of LinkedIn and social media activity
  • Create social media/digital content and campaigns primarily on LinkedIn
  • Run micro marketing campaigns to help potential clients move through the sales funnel and keep records of successes and failures
  • Prepare blog articles and send mailshots
  • Coordinate and attend events that engage with potential clients, attend networking events/conferences, including virtual discussion groups and round tables
  • Assess situations, quantify and prioritise opportunities
  • Promote the company via industry competitions to raise our company profile
  • Support account managers to collaborative with potential clients.
Other work

  • Act as a guide to best practice commensurate with maintaining our brand values
  • To be familiar with, and work within the company's ISO 9001:2015 (quality) and ISO20252:2012 (market research) systems and MRS Code of Conduct, GDPR and PERC, and ISO27001:2013 (information security) policies
  • To maintain membership of the MRS, at an appropriate level as per your employment contract within 6 months of joining (please note that this is individual MRS membership that you should budget for personally)
  • Be responsible for helping to maintain security of the office, site and equipment and comply with Health & Safety and Fire Regulations.
