An Exciting Opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated individual to join the lung cancer team.

You will be responsible for managing the Lung Cancer nurse specialists and leading on education for the Lung Cancer Teams

37.5 hours per week

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership for the Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist teams to help to deliver excellent patient care and to lead on nurse education


As a key member of the Senior Nursing Team, working under the professional direction of the Head of Nursing, the Matron will be responsible for the implementation of National and corresponding local Nursing Strategy.


Specifically, this means delivering the complex agenda as defined by the Matrons Charter, the NHS Institute's 'High Impact Actions' and other National/Local guidance and policies, adopting a highly visible and accessible approach for patients, leading by example in empowering and developing staff to undertake a greater range of clinical activities in order to modernise and improve patient care.

Responsible for managing the nursing teams, clinical leadership, infection prevention and control and standards of patient care.


As a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership and demonstration of competent, accountable clinical practice and modelling of core values.

Responsible for the performance management of key individuals in respect of the nursing contribution to service delivery
