We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Temporary Housing and Resettlement Worker.
As a Temporary Housing and Resettlement Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals who are experiencing homelessness or facing housing instability.
Your primary responsibilities will include providing direct support, advocacy, and guidance to clients, assisting them in securing temporary accommodation, and helping them navigate the resettlement process.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' housing needs and develop tailored support plans.
Provide practical assistance, advice, and advocacy to clients in securing temporary accommodation, including liaising with housing providers, landlords, and local authorities.
Support clients in accessing relevant welfare benefits, healthcare services, and educational/training opportunities.Deliver housing-related workshops and information sessions to enhance clients' knowledge and skills.
Collaborate with external agencies, community organizations, and support networks to coordinate holistic support services for clients.
Monitor and review clients' progress, ensuring that support plans are regularly updated and reflect their evolving needs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, complying with data protection and confidentiality protocols.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a similar role, such as a housing support worker, resettlement worker, or homelessness prevention officer, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of local housing resources, support services, and community organizations in Oxford.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and build rapport with a diverse range of clients.
Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with individuals facing challenging circumstances.Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and prioritize tasks effectively.
