- We would like to announce an exciting opportunity to become part of Shipping & Logistics team for a global electrical solutions manufacturer based in Stockport, UK
. The role of Snr Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, will report to Shipping & Logistics Manager and will be primarily responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of products to our global customer base and the import of materials from various global origins. You will be collaborating with clients, domestic and international agents and haulage providers to deliver a first class service to our customers and manufacturing teams.
- Communicate effectively with end customers advising them of forecasted, planned and/or rescheduled delivery dates as necessary.
- Able to understand and communicate customer order requirements to ensure that shipping instructions are executed from order entry/acknowledgement.
- Manage customer orders through the planning and production process to ensure completeness, timeliness and accuracy of deliveries.
- Assist Shipping & Logistics manager to ensure stakeholders receive timely and accurate information e.g. weekly and monthly reporting of departmental and company Key Performance Indicators.
- Proactively work with and manage freight forwarders (export customers on exworks orders) to ensure customers pick up their orders in a timely manner.
- Accurately check and create shipping documents in a timely manner
- Arrange Pre-Shipment inspections
- Appraise draft Letters of Credit before issuance and preparation of documents
- Issue invoices and resolve Invoice queries in a timely manner
- Liaise with shipping lines for amendments and issuance of original bills of lading
- Prepare Insurance Certificate and issuance of Bank Collections
- Liaise with local courier for shipping, POD's and Tracking Notes for shipments
- Arranging Certificates of Origin with the Chamber of Commerce
- What will help you thrive in this role?
- Extensive knowledge of exporting/importing goods (Road, Air & Ocean) (5 yrs Min)
- SAP knowledge & experience (2yrs Min)
- Relevant qualifications Institute of Export /B.I.F.A (preferred)
- Prior experience within a busy multiproduct manufacturing environment with international exposure
- Knowledge and understanding of shipping documentation e.g. Bills of Lading, EUR1's, C of O's and LOC's, Insurance schedules, Proforma Invoices etc.
- Experience of working with Letters of Credit
- Customer focussed and strong communicator
