We are looking to recruit a special person to join our lovely team.

We are looking for a
CHILDCARE _
qualified level 3 _or above practitioner to join our warm, caring, and friendly environment within the village of Saxilby.

Applicants must be passionate about early years and enjoy being outdoors in all weathers. (Raincoat and Wellies would be an advantage) Experience of observing and planning would be beneficial. A smiley face to ease children's nerves and the ability to reassure parents when needed is essential.

You will be required to laugh at things you may not find funny and become familiar with characters you're not familiar with.

Some awareness of Elsa, Thomas the Tank, Peppa Pig, Chase, and others would be helpful or at least a willingness to learn.


The confidence to sing aloud in front of a crowd is essential but the ability to sing in tune is not.

The ability to multitask as well as count moving heads will also be required.


You must be happy to get wet, dirty, and work hard but in return, you will be loved, cherished, and hugged regularly from all our little people.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday


Official Job description:

  • Operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your area in conjunction with other staff.
  • Keep a record of achievement file on your key children for parents and work in conjunction with your secondary key person.
  • Ensure the health, safety and security of the children at all times.
  • Work with parents of special needs children to give full integration in the nursery.
  • Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
  • Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
  • Be involved in all out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, Christmas party, etc.
  • Be flexible within working practices of nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc.
  • Work alongside the Management and staff team to ensure that the nursery's philosophy is fulfilled.
  • Record accidents/incidents in the accident/incident book. Ensure the Management has initialled the report before the parent receives it.
  • Look upon the nursery, as a "whole" where can you help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children.
  • Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery collects child.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information received.
  • Develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker.
  • Prepare and complete activities to suit the child's stage of development.
  • Ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing.
  • Wash and change children as required.
  • Ensure a poorly child is kept calm and comfortable.
  • Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
  • Be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold their standards at all times.
  • Attend external and internal training as required.
  • Make positive contributions to the development of the Early Years Setting.
  • Aid senior staff in the planning of activities and organisation of the group and session.
  • Deliver adult-led activities and provide the children with an environment that is stimulating and enables learning and development opportunities through child-initiated and adult assisted play as described in the EYFS.
  • Encourage children to attain their developmental stages and provide opportunities to progress to the next step.
  • Treat every child as an individual and support them in their development suitable to their needs.
Show an interest in all children's views and opinions and value all children equally

Part-time hours: 30-40 per week


Salary:
£6.90-£11.50 per hour
