We have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandiser to join our dynamic team based in our modern Head Office at Thorpe Park, Leeds.


Purpose of the role:

As a Merchandiser, you will play a vital role within our Merchandising teams. You will provide essential support to your department and provide senior management support to the junior team.


Key Responsibilities:


Trade and Planning:


  • Present weekly trade for your area, highlighting any risk, movements and anomalies to budget.
  • Work with the Sales Team to build the annual sales and margin budget by customer and product category
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of the order tracker. Presenting any key changes to the wider team in weekly Trade meetings.
  • Meet weekly with the buying team to manage the Critical Path, highlighting any risks to production and therefore budget.
  • Ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time across all BSI channels.
  • Producing size scales and raising of purchase orders (bulk and samples), adding this information to the tracker, issuing barcodes and shipping labels (where appropriate)
  • Ensuring all relevant information is correct and present in the system, including price lists, order quantities and delivery dates where required.
  • Update and maintain cash flow and warehouse capacity plans on a weekly basis, presenting correct invoices for final approval.
  • Provide seasonal analysis and forecasts to the buying/sales team.
  • Manage the planned OTB with the buying team to ensure forecasted OTB sales are achieved for each account.
  • Provide the WH teams with weekly intake updates to ensure the efficient flow of stock receipt and despatch.
  • Liaise with the accounts/buying teams to ensure they are fully updated on all deliveries and answer any relevant questions.
  • Liaise with suppliers on a daytoday basis ensuring that products are despatched to the agreed exfactory date.
  • Liaise with the logistics and shipping teams to ensure intake is delivered in time and accordance to the critical path.
  • Liaising with customers, responding promptly to communications to ensure all needs are met.
  • Reading and digesting each specific customer manual, ensuring factories are clear on the requirements and providing support where needed.
  • Ensuring manuals are up to date to allow suppliers to pack goods in accordance with customer needs.
  • Assisting the factories on the shipping process, ensure correct bookings are made and chasing for shipping documents.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, factories, and customers to utilise container space efficiently where required.
  • Advising and approving all labelling / packaging information following customer manuals
  • Coordinate and prepare the checking and approval of invoices and packing lists and be responsible for providing the Accounts team with accurate payment documents, ensuring invoicing on the system is completed in accordance to the sales tracker and budget.
  • Attend key internal and supplier meetings alongside the wider team.
  • Providing regular and ad hoc reports for internal/external teams and customers.
  • General office/departmental duties.

People:


  • Develop, train, and support the departmental Junior Team.

Additional Responsibility:


  • Manage the daily office duties with support from the HOM
  • In the absence of the Merchandising Assistant, manage the daily office duties
  • Identify opportunities for improving the method of working, responsible for implementing any improvements agreed by management.
  • Review historical sales figures and record lessons learned through the season.

Accountability:


  • Support the departmental MA with daily tasks and training.
