Zenzie Tinker Conservation is the largest independent têxtile conservation business in the UK. Our client base is wide and our work is fascinating.
We are seeking an experienced, full-time administrator with a real interest in conservation and the heritage sector to join our busy team in Brighton.
We are keen to find someone committed enough to stay with us and help develop the business in the years ahead.
Our team of 10-12 têxtile and paper conservators undertake complex projects for a wide variety of clients.We need a team player who can take responsibility for dealing with everything from general office administration to the extraordinarily meticulous side of conservation documentation.
The studio is always full of fascinating objects, their historic stories and many interesting clients; we need someone capable enough to help keep it running smoothly.
You will work closely with the Director/Lead Conservator running the administrative and finance side of our conservation business as well as project programming, supporting the conservation team in their work and helping to manage the studio day to day.
Additionally, support will be required to help co-ordinate and organise our conservation and creative workshops.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in programming conservation projects entering the studio
- Maintaining Excel up to date spreadsheets predicting financial outgoings and income
- Maintain and update reports, spreadsheets and physical files and records.
- Assist with data entry tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare and distribute memos, letters, reports, and other documents as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the conservation team as required.
- Basic bookkeeping tasks using Xero software and liaison with our accountants.
- Maintain up to date risk assessments.
- Liaise with education institutions regarding interns and student placements.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role is preferred
- Familiarity with Xero or other accounting software is a plus
- Familiarity with Wordpress website editing is preferable
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills
Pay:
£25,000.00-£26,500.00 per year
