Description

Participate in morning trauma meeting and (when on-call) evening handover. Assist in both elective and emergency (fracture) clinics.

On theatre days, carry out preoperative patient review with your team and assist with surgery, documentation and ensure the postoperative plan is followed.

Review your postoperative patients that are staying overnight.

When on-call, take A&E and external referrals and those from other departments, review them and formulate a management plan. Maintain an updated patient database. Comply at all times with the Trusts dress code.

Observe Trust policy on prevention of infection including hand washing and remaining bare below the elbows in all patient areas.

Take responsibility for your continuing professional development and attend Trust essential training, any clinical updates and Trust Academic Half Days as appropriate.

Undergo an annual appraisal as part of maintaining medical registration as required for Revalidation.
