Assembly Fitter - Weekday Day shifts (Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday, 7 a.m. - 12 p.m.) _


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bench work Assembly, Tasks to include;

  • Riveting
  • Drilling, countersinking, filing


  • Press fitting

  • Operating Hydraulic and fly presses
  • Bush spinning
  • Broad assembly using a range of fasteners
  • Operating a variety of bench top tools
  • Operating pneumatic tools
  • Bonding using sealants and over sealing
  • Low level selfinspection and setting to proven jigs
  • Semiskilled sheet metal ability; e.g. defect removal
  • Setting products in jigs and fixtures
  • Working on larger assemblies exclusive to bench work
  • Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the jobholder's capability consistent with the Terms and Conditions of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant NVQ qualifications relevant to mechanical fitting and assembly
  • Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Previous experience is a similar field of work
  • On the job direction and experience
  • Working accurately and methodically following work instructions and SWP's
  • Capable of working autonomously
  • Can be intrusted to selfinspect and work under loose supervision
  • Vigilance in working subdetails for errors inflicted from previous processing
  • Practical experience of at least one of the following disciplines sheet metalwork, machining, fitting and assembly, welding and metal treatments.
  • Mechanical fitter experience preferred

Salary:
£11.44-£13.71 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
