Locum consultant in Gastroenterology

This post offers the opportunity for a committed and ambitious clinician to join the NHS Lanarkshire gastroenterology service based at University Hospital Wishaw.

This post is initially for maternity cover but the department is looking to expand further especially the hepatology service.

Gastroenterology services are offered at all 3 NHS Lanarkshire sites and include inpatient care, outpatient clinics, endoscopy lists (including ERCP) and involvement in the general medical take.

There are currently 5 consultants within the department after successful recent recruitment. This is allowing the department to look at improving its patient pathways and expand its hepatology service. There is support from specialist nurses in the management of IBD and secretarial support.

The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis with breakdown being 8 Direct Clinical Care and 2 Supporting Professional Activity, subject to confirmation and approval of the final job plan.
