Fitter Tester - Role Summary:

Collins Actuation Systems in Wolverhampton are currently recruiting for a
Fitter Tester who will evaluate, build and test units and sub-assemblies using mechanical and electrical techniques as required by the appropriate media (Process Plan, Engineering Drawing, Product Acceptance Test etc.)

  • In this role you will:
  • Adhere to the relevant quality procedures and requirements and participate in events/ investigations as necessary
  • Use appropriate test facilities, perform required tests to the relevant specification recording results as necessary
  • Be capable of performing any process or function within the repair route. Training will be given as required
  • Be able to assess manufactured features for conformance to requirements, and to declare any nonconformances
  • Support the team and team leader in their objectives and to actively participate in improvements
  • Control, operate and maintain stock control systems as appropriate
  • Transport materials, tools and equipment as necessary
  • Support continuous improvement deployment of ACE through active participation on Lean Events, Workshops and Continuous Improvement activities.

  • Flexible approach with a willingness to work as part of a team
  • Calm under pressure and responsive to change
  • Previous knowledge of assembly activities, fitting and testing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively within the working environment
  • Ability to work on your own initiative

Skills that are Essential for this role:

  • NVQ level 3 is a minimum requirement for this position
  • Demonstrable problemsolving abilities
  • Previous knowledge of assembly activities, fitting and testing skills

Skills that are desirable in this role:

  • J-STD soldering experience advantageous but not necessary
  • PC literacy an advantage
