The post holder will manage the office team, ensuring day to day duties are completed efficiently and accurately.


The post holder's duties include invoice matching, processing credit notes and analysis of monthly statements, resolving any anomalies that arise.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining an up to date set of office Standard Operating Procedures.

The post holder is also responsible for providing secretarial, administrative, clerical and reception support in line with pharmacy service requirements and to work as part of the office team and cross covers duties as required (approx. 20%)The post holder is an important link between ward staff, doctors, nurses, patients, other departments and pharmacy staff and will be expected to project a positive and helpful image of the department at all times.


We at North Middlesex Hospital Pharmacy Department are looking for an Individual with excellent interpersonal skills to take on a challenging post leading the pharmacy office team and being PA to the Chief Pharmacist.

This role is suitable for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and is committed and who has experience working in an office environment.

You will be working with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and other health care professionals, therefore experience of working in a multidisciplinary team would be an advantage.

Training will be provided where relevant to the post.


Examples of other duties include:


  • Correlate statistics and provide administration services
  • To provide administrative service for the senior pharmacy managers.
  • To support senior pharmacy managers by designing and producing PowerPoint and software presentations for use in training sessions.
  • To be responsible for coordinating administrative activities in liaison with IT, facilities, finance, HR, procurement and other departments as needed.
  • To deal courteously with telephone inquiries from patients and all other health professionals and to take messages where appropriate providing a pleasant and helpful point of contact within a busy department.
  • Service inhouse and Joint Trusts pharmacy meetings other PA duties as required by Chief Pharmacist

  • Friday hours will be discussed with the individual post holder as the service delivery changes and working patterns change.
