If you like to work outdoors, and are happy to work in all weathers, this may be the job for you

The Grounds Maintenance Team look after some 550 plus sites across Dorset, ranging from school grounds, care homes and libraries to Dorset Council's own properties.

The work entails grass cutting, hedge and shrub border maintenance, sports pitch marking to name just a few of the tasks.

We offer an in-house service to the Council, providing a quick response solution to issues and requirements that arise across the whole of Dorset.

You would be working as part of a team, assisting your Team Leader to maintain a high standard, cost effective delivery.

Being a good team player is therefore essential, as is an ability to be self motivated and hard working.

As a member of the Grounds Maintenance team you will be representing the service, promoting its work and be an advocate for Dorset Council and its partners.

Within the Place Directorate, Environment & Wellbeing Service combines front-line service delivery in coast and countryside services with a key corporate function in property management.

Dorset's environment provides the essential goods and services necessary to maintain economic growth and community wellbeing.

For it to continue to do so requires it to be well managed and the service makes a major contribution to this in partnership with others who share DC's aims.

The Service also has responsibility for a wide range of public assets - buildings, land and sites - and ensures that these are used in ways which benefit the people of Dorset as well as meeting organisational need.

Landscape Services provide a green asset implementation and management service maintaining, constructing and managing a range of schemes, including the designing out of maintenance liabilities, offering opportunities to schools to enhance recreational and educational space and supporting the practical work of the Area Greenspace Teams, Arboriculture, Environmental Advice and Hosted Partnership Teams.
