Logistics Coordinator - Wolverhampton, United Kingdom - SI Group
Description
We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage and execute logistics functions at our Four Ashes plant in Wolverhampton. This includes handling inbound resale logistics, orders, and compliance activities such as customs processes within assigned categories.
The role aligns with business requirements and global procurement guidelines, including P2P, Order to Cash (OTC), and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Responsibilities:
- Execute procurement of assigned logistics areas, balancing cost with quality and service.
- Manage logistics programs, including transportation booking and monitoring, to meet economic, safety, regulatory, customs, and environmental standards, and customer requirements.
- Implement logistics strategies based on Global Procurement guidelines.
- Ensure logistics operations comply with Global Distribution and Logistics, Global Procurement guidelines, OTC principles, and SLAs.
- Provide backup support for local logistics colleagues.
- Support stakeholders and customers in executing logistics activities, coordinating between dispatch/loading teams and customer/haulier requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in logistics activities in collaboration with the Manager and Site Director, including KPI management and ISO 9001 system requirements.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with site, global logistics, global distribution and logistics, global procurement, and commercial teams.
- Strong communication skills for internal and external interactions, proactive information collection, and clear, timely communication.
- Business savvy to anticipate and address future logistics issues, such as price changes and supply challenges.
- Strong sense of urgency to meet goals and deadlines.
- Effective prioritization and task completion skills, avoiding distractions.
- Ability to work within established business frameworks while seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
- Strong relationshipbuilding and maintenance skills with internal and external partners.
- Minimum of 5 years of supply chain experience.
- Knowledge of import/export processes.
- Background in supply chain planning/S&OP, service provider management, and process/data management is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS-Outlook, MS-Excel, MS-Word, SharePoint, ERP systems, and SAP.
Additional Requirements:
- Readiness to work longer hours during peak times.
- Proven experience in supply chain management, particularly in logistics coordination and import/export processes.
- Language skills in French, German, or Italian are advantageous but not essential.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Proven experience in supply chain management, with specific experience in logistics coordination and import/export processes.
- Strong user knowledge in Microsoft Office software and ERP systems, with SAP knowledge preferred.
