Purchase Ledger Assistant - Head Office, Salford, Manchester


We are looking for a
Purchase Ledger Assistant to support the finance team across all key areas of the purchasing function.

The role reports in to the Purchase Ledger Clerk and is varied covering purchase ledger, statement reconciliation, purchase order queries, payment runs and other various duties as required by the business.


To be successful in this role, you will have experience within a Purchase Ledger role and comfortable with carrying out all aspects of purchase ledger.

You will be comfortable working in a busy environment and must be able to pick things up quickly whilst maintaining high standards of work.

Hours & Location of Work:


  • Main location
  • Thermatic Head Office based in Salford. Opportunities to work remotely will be available.
  • Regular hours of work
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm 40 hour working week

What we're looking for:


Qualifications & Experience:


  • 23 years' experience working within a purchase ledger role, preferably within a similar industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Good exprience of accounting software (AccountsIQ, Xero, Sage, or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail is essential
  • Experience of processing subcontractors under the CIS scheme would be an advantage

Responsibilities include:


  • Accurate posting of purchase invoices
  • Dealing with invoice queries
  • Use of supplier portals
  • Running payment predictions and uploading supplier payments
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Posting and reconciliation of the credit card
  • Continuous review of internal controls within the purchase function
