We have an exciting opportunity to join our HRteam based at Student Central on the University of Hull campus. As a HRAdvisor, you will need to have an excellent knowledge of all aspects of HumanResources and experience of delivering support and guidance to managersand colleagues. About the Role

ServiceDelivery

  • To assist, support and advise managers with HR issues e.g. investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence etc.
  • To provide a comprehensive and confidential HR business partnering support service.
  • To maintain up to date awareness of HR policy and employment law legislation and implement required changes to HUSU policies and procedures.
  • To lead on HR projects, policies and procedures and initiatives to improve overall employee engagement and to simplify and streamline processes.

- assisting managers with job descriptions and person specifications
- advertising vacancies and supporting with the interview process.

  • To ensure that all offers of employment or contractual changes are processed in line with current legislation and provide support to managers to ensure onboarding is scheduled
  • To manage the onboarding process, ensuring all new starters receive a comprehensive induction and new starter documentation is received and acted upon e.g. Preemployment Health Questionnaires, reference requests, right to work checks through the view and prove service etc. and records are kept within the HR system (PeopleHR)
  • To liaise with payroll to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • To produce HR related letters to employees as required ensuring all templates are kept up to date.
  • To ensure that all leavers are given the opportunity to have an exit interview and any issues are looked into to improve staff retention.
  • To lead on improving and promoting HUSUs commitment to provide equal opportunities for all through our employment practices
  • To be a key contributor to the employee engagement, health & wellbeing and equity, diversity & inclusion including data collection, planning and execution.
  • To implement and support health and wellbeing initiatives for staff and provide support to employees with regard to Employment and Wellbeing including signposting.

Reportingand Information Management

  • To ensure all data on PeopleHR regarding salaries, grades and job titles are accurate.
  • To implement PeopleHR changes and ensure the system is being used to its full potential.
  • To produce reports for the SLT for KPIs, Senior Leadership Team meetings, and Board and Board Committee reports
  • To maintain training records and provide reports to Managers to ensure all staff undertake appropriate training.

TeamWorking

  • To build strong internal relationships with managers

  • To participate in projects and initiatives that cut across different departments as guided by the CEO.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure confidentiality at all times in the handling and dissemination of information and data, and embedding and implementing GDPR across the workload.
  • Carry out all duties in line with HUSUs policies and in line with the organisations values and strategic aims.
