Description

We are currently seeking Health Care Assistants possessing the highest standards of care and compassion in order to aid, coach and support our diverse population of patient requirements here in Gloucester.


In this role you need to be a motivated, flexible and resourceful team player who has high standards and can embrace the service changes and developments.

You will be supported by a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team of Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and administrative staff, whilst providing support to the Gloucester Community.

You will deliver high quality care, whilst supporting the patients with a variety of conditions and needs, in their own homes.


To excel in this role you will require excellent communication and clinical skills to deliver safe and effective patient centred care to our local population.

You will be able to maintain accurate record keeping to ensure that details of the care given is recorded in line with trust policies.


On a daily basis you will be responsible for the delivery of care for a specific group of patients, ensuring you treat all patients, carers and staff with dignity and respect.

Your role will involve tasks such as venepuncture, a variety of wound care, performing clinical observations and reporting changes to patients health and well-being as appropriate

As a Health Care Assistant/ Support Worker you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service.

Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not.


You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards.

All successful applicants will also have the opportunity to discuss the prospect of undertaking a Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship alongside their substantive post.

This apprenticeship would include the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare.
