Description

As the Domestic Services Supervisor you will be responsible for the day to day line management and supervision of the team of domestics, including allocation of work areas, training and ensuring the rosters are covered at the Princess Alexandra Hospital whilst maintaining and sustaining a high standard of cleanliness across the trust.

Maintenance of a high standard of Domestic Service which meets the agreed specification

Key/code holder - to ensure all keys are signed in and out of the supervisors office.


Training to include on the job training and local induction for all new staff and refresher training for staff when required.

Issuing and recording of all uniforms given to staff.

Carry out staff appraisals

Allocate of work to cover unplanned absences e.g. sickness

Completion of rosters ensuring cover for annual l eave and sickness

Assist in the genral welfare and discipline of staff

Undertake first line sickness meetings

Check delivery of cleaning materials to main domestic store and unpack delivery

Ensure staff use safe working practices

Assist and supervise with special cleaning programmes

To comply with national and local policies and procedures in relation to Heath & Safety, COSHH and Fire regulations

To supervise the day to day running of the Domestic Services Team.


To ensure roster are complete and all tasks covered daily and to ensure that planned and unplanned absences are covered e.g.

annual leave and sickness.

To undertake first line sickness meeting and staff appraisals

Assist in the general welfare and discipline of staff.

Assist and supervise special cleaning programmes

To ensure compliance of national and local policies in relation to Health & Safety, COSHH and Fire Regulations

To maintain a high standard on all wards and department
