The Emergency Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic EM Research Clinical Fellow.

The post will be for a 12-month period in the first instance, which could be extended if mutually agreed. The position involves working a shift pattern, including night duties. The job will include 30% protected time Research fellow duties. The SPA allocation would be included within this time.


To achieve our ambition of becoming a leading emergency department for research we require a dedicated Clinical fellow in EM research.

The role will include recruiting participants to studies, raising awareness of research in the department, reporting & presenting research findings and delivering research training to other members of staff.

We are in the process of joining a portfolio of NIHR and commercial studies of which there are currently over 20 portfolio studies in set-up or open which NNUH ED could successfully recruit to.

This post will provide the opportunity to develop experience of EM research, to take part, not only in different projects in the Emergency Department but also to develop the close links we have with the Clinical Research teams at UEA and EAAA-PHEM faculty.


The post holder would be supervised by an Emergency Medicine consultant who will act as lead for research in the department.

We are also in the process of recruiting an EM Research ACP.
