Role Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic colleague to join us as a Property Surveyor.
This is a professional senior surveying role within the Company's Property Department.
The role will provide professional advice in relation to the Company's operational land and buildings covering property management, valuation, rent reviews, lease renewals, statutory notices, acquisition, disposals, and town planning.
The role focuses on the high-end cases of Property Management within the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Day to day management of the company's operational portfolios including substation sites and Telecommunications facilities rents and income.
- Provide professional advice and support on the company's operational property portfolio.
- Effectively manage land and property acquisitions and disposals.
- Effectively manage Statutory notices in relation to lease renewals/terminations and rent reviews.
- Manage and provide advice on Landlord and Tenant issues
- Instruct and manage cases with external legal firms and surveying consultants. Management of 3rd party providers and contractors.
- Meet all compliance matters both legislative and internal (health and safety, environmental, financial, reporting etc.).
- Provide property related advice to departments including valuation and property law matters
- Assist in the delivery of the income streams and actively seek commercial opportunities to increase the company's income and reduce/protect current rental costs
- Assist with the delivery of Net Zero and decarbonization through appropriate property transactions and negotiations.

- Applies judgement using a rational and evidencebased approach, taking account of risk and safety implications.
- Strong commercial skills including negotiating skills, knowledge of property valuations and relevant legal rights and obligations
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential Qualifications
- Educated to appropriate degree level
- Chartered Surveyor with a minimum of five years post qualification experience working in Estate Management
- Member of appropriate professional body
Essential Experience
- Proven experience of dealing with property matters including rent reviews, lease renewals section 25 and other statutory notices etc.
- Ability to manage the delivery projects on time and within budget
- Possess and demonstrate excellent negotiation skills for complex and high value transactions.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Selfmotivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision
- Possess full current driving licence
Desirable Qualifications
- Good IT skills
- Building/Civil qualification
Desirable Experience
- GIS mapping systems
- Knowledge of the electricity industry.
- Knowledge of easements & wayleaves
- Flexible approach as position will involve meeting deadlines and considerable travel within the business portfolio
- Appreciation and understanding of how the Green agenda impacts property requirements & transactions
