We are seeking a dynamic experienced and motivated Head of Facilities Management to operationally manage our facilities services at Tunbridge Wells General Hospital

Our directorate manages cleaning, porters, accommodation, non patient transport, linen contracts, reception, grounds and car parking.


As part of the Facilities Management (FM) Senior Management Team, the post-holder will provide effective management, strategic leadership and direction to the range of FM services.

They will take senior lead on all FM operational activity on the site and assist the Associate Director for FM in the development and delivery of strategies for the ranges of services.

The post holder will ensure efficient, effective, customer focused services are delivered against agreed targets and within budget.

Also, effectively manage contracted out services to ensure they are meeting agreed standards, provide high quality delivery and value for money against key performance targets.

Ensure quality principles and standards are in place to meeting the Trust, local and national standards. Work closely with colleagues in the directorate to ensure the Trust environment is maintained to high standards.


Act as a champion for the environment on site ensuring all FM services are designed, developed and delivered with the patient in mind.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.


The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs.

We work from two main clinical sites:
Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.


We employ over 6,500 full and part-time staff in a huge range of clinical and non-clinical roles across both of our hospital sites.
