FSKA UK (trading as Funakoshi Ltd) is a very well respected and established Karate business that teaches Shotokan Karate to both children and adults across SW London as well as the City of London.

We have a new position open for a part time or full time Shotokan Karate instructor to join our experienced team.


All our instructors work and support each other as a team, so we are looking for someone who loves karate, loves teaching kids as well as adults and who is extremely reliable PLUS a great team member.

Most of our classes are in the Kew and Twickenham areas, Clapham and Wimbledon as well as London.

You will be teaching children from the ages of 3 years upwards and also adults in separate classes. Most classes will have two instructors with one instructor taking charge of registration at each class.

You will need to be fluent in English (both written and verbally).

You will need to provide prompt and clear communication in English with our office staff, who will give you administration back up.


As part of our commitment to Safeguarding, you will be required to complete a DBS check as well as various face to face or online courses before you start teaching at schools or our dojos.


Requirements:


  • Black belt in Shotokan Karate
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Excellent knowledge of Heian and Senior Shotokan katas
  • Must be available 2.30pm to 7.30pm on most weekdays (Monday to Friday) and potentially mornings from 8am.
  • Exact details on the teaching schedule will be given to applicants if they are short listed for the next round of the interview process.
  • Own means of transport (either by use of public transport or a clean driver's license with own vehicle)
  • Experience in teaching or assisting with teaching martial arts Shotokan Karate preferable, although not essential
  • First Aid certificate preferred but not essential
