AstraZeneca's Engineering Apprenticeship programme is designed to create the technicians and engineers of the future.

Engineering apprentices play a hugely important role at AstraZeneca, solving challenges that arise from some of the most advanced equipment in the industry.

As an engineering apprentice, you'll be required to maintain complex equipment and ensure that high standards are adhered to for safety, manufacturing quality and documentation.


Under supervision the role holder will work on:

  • Control and Automation Systems supporting facilities and operational process automation at the Biologics Facility
  • developing into the role of Subject Matter Expert.
  • Performing the role of System Administrator, ensuring continued system compliance, reliability, and life cycle management ensuing that the control system meets the continuous requirements of the business.
  • Providing project and troubleshooting technical support in the event of Control System upgrades, maintenance, and support of failure events, to ensure effective and timely response to support site activities.

Training and Development
AstraZeneca will sponsor you through your Control Technical Support Engineer degree at
Aston University. The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time university learning (on average 1 day/week).

This will give you the opportunity to gain a degree, just as you would if you went to university full-time, with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career.

Entry Requirements:


This is a 51 month Fixed Term Contract opportunity based at Speke - Liverpool offering
£21,500 starting base salary + 11% benefits fund + bonus.
