An exciting opportunity has become available within the orthopaedic outpatient department, as a trainee Orthopaedic Practitioner.
The Orthopaedic Practitioner Trainee is a member of the plaster room team which primarily serves the orthopaedic and fracture clinics and the inpatient orthopaedic wards.
The post holder will be required to work under the supervision of the Orthopaedic Practitioner, although at times and with experience, they may be asked to work unsupervised on casts dependent upon skills.
The Orthopaedic Practitioner Trainee will be encouraged to undertake the distance learning programme in plaster technology.
- To provide inpatients and outpatients with a casting service which meet the requirements of the patient's injury.
- The post holder will undertake the role of trainee to the existing Orthopaedic Practitioners.
- To fit and instruct patients on the use of appliances such as aircast boots, TROMS, joint support braces
- To support the running of both elective and fracture clinics
- This post is to work cross site
