We are currently recruiting for a
Head of Health, Safety and Environment to join us in Siemens Rolling Stock Goole Rail Manufacturing facility in East Riding of Yorkshire.

This is an exciting time to join us as we embark on a journey to provide the first 94 trains for the London Piccadilly Upgrade Programme.

In this key role, you will lead a team to deliver the business EHS strategy and work with colleagues to identify and mitigate risk whilst focusing on governance of the EHS processes and continuous improvement.


We are looking for a people manager and leader to develop and upskill your team through growth talks and encourage personal and professional development; be the coach and mentor who promotes teamwork and shared learning and ensure sustainability and effectiveness of the function.


You'll make a difference by

  • Proactively identifying business EHS risk and seeking either mitigation or risk acceptance.
  • Monitoring and reviewing business activities to ensure internal EHS standards are being met, reviewing and updating internal risk controls and supporting EHS processes.
  • Building relationships with clients and external partners to understand and communicate changes or impacts of governance requirements.
  • Championing continuous improvement; providing global teams with EHS findings, best practice and industry innovations.
  • Being a role model and facilitating promotion and a positive culture in the business; providing direction and challenging senior leadership both internally and externally to embed cultural change.
  • Supporting a structured programme of development to upskill your team and equip them with the skills and behaviours necessary to support a proactive and engaged approach to EHS management.

Your success will be grounded by

  • Suitable qualification in health and safety, environment, sustainability, or quality management
  • Qualification in second discipline (Level 3 or above is desirable)
  • Auditing experience (Lead auditor qualification is desirable)
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body (desirable)
  • Previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Senior line management experience
