You will join a vibrant multidisciplinary team working at the boundary between Chemistry and Computer Vision.

As part of a major new UKRI-funded research programme, you will help design and realise a web-deployable software platform to enable chemical researchers to maximise productivity.

You will be empowering the molecule makers of today to access the hidden data they need to make the medicines of tomorrow.


You will lead both publishable and patentable research activities as part of a team, working under the general supervision of Dr Marc Reid (the UKRI Future Leaders Fellow).


You will manage and prioritise your own workload, embracing AGILE principles to collaboratively adapt and refine your approach in this fast-paced environment.

You will input as a team member to strategic discussions and software demonstrations with our end-user partners. You will learn to translate ideas through video production methods taught to you by the team lead.


To be considered for the role, you will be educated to a minimum of PhD level in Computer Science (or closely related Engineering discipline), or have significant relevant experience in addition to a relevant degree.

You will have sufficient breadth or depth of knowledge in full stack web development, and a growing ability to conduct individual research work, to disseminate results and to prepare research proposals.

You will have an ability to plan and organise your own workload effectively and an ability to work within a team environment.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen, engage and persuade, and to present complex information in an accessible way to a range of audiences

Formal interviews for this post will be held in late February/early March.
