NMGW Enterprises Ltd Trading Activity Background In 2003 Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales established a trading arm called National Museum and Galleries of Wales Enterprises Limited.

The current Scope of the trading activity includes the management of:


  • The Museum Gift Shops at: a. National Museum Cardiff b. St Fagans National Museum of History c. The National Roman Legion Museum d. The National Slate Museum e. Big Pit National Coal Museum f. The National Wool Museum g. The National Waterfront Museum
  • Ecommerce and mail order operate centrally from National Museum Cardiff
  • Car parking fees at National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans National Museum of History and Big Pit National Coal Museum.
  • Image Licensing, operated centrally from National Museum Cardiff
  • Provision of private events and functions, primarily at National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans National Museum of History and National Waterfront Museum.
  • Franchised public catering facilities at National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans National Museum of History and National Waterfront Museum.
  • Management of retail spaces which are rented out to third parties at National Waterfront Museum
  • Commercial filming projects across the whole portfolio of Museums including the Collections Centre.
  • New commercial projects including, pop up shops, CoedLan and virtual reality experience amongst others.
  • Catering facilities managed internally at National Slate Museum, Big Pit National Coal Museum and National Wool Museum What you'll doProvide support to NMGW Enterprises Ltd to help grow revenue streams through marketing campaigns, by establishing Enterprise brand quality standards, designing promotional offers and by reporting on visitor data to our cafes and shops. You will raise the awareness of the commercial offer across all marketing and communications channels. This post is line managed by the Head of Enterprises. What you'll achieve
  • Help grow income generation through tailored marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with the Marketing and Communications Department's planned campaigns, strategy, and brand rollout
  • Develop and implement coordinated marketing plans and promotions across all of Enterprises commercial initiatives, including Catering (inhouse and contract), Retail and Commercial Hires
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications department, ensuring alignment with the broad programme of their work, whilst advocating for income generation messaging opportunities
  • Liaise with other relevant departments to ensure Enterprises is represented, for example, the Events and Public Programming department
  • In collaboration with the Insights team, analyse visitor data to help inform marketing and commercial decisions
  • Design and create a port folio of collateral for Enterprises, including graphics for marketing, digital brochures, and print How you'll achieve this
  • Lead promotional activity to drive business and revenue aligned to the Amgueddfa Cymru brand
  • Develop creative approaches to promote commercial products
  • Work with the Enterprise teams to ensure market research shapes the business direction and appropriate promotional activity
  • Build constructive relationships with Amgueddfa Cymru sites and departments
  • Working with the insights team, evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns and monitor return on investment
  • Deliver promotional initiatives focused on increasing revenue ensuring all activity is aligned with the brand and coordinated.
  • Help to identify new marketing opportunities for commercial benefit that are aligned with the objectives of the Museum's Marketing and Communications department.
  • Support adhoc marketing activities across the 7 sites
  • Be trained to be proficient to manage relevant areas of the EPOS system and CRM
  • Working with Enterprise management and the Brand Manager support the creation and auditing of Enterprise brand quality standards across all sites and that the Amgueddfa Cymru brand is adopted across all of our commercial offer
  • Develop relevant stakeholder relationships with partners such as Visit Cardiff and Visit Wales How you'll support Amgueddfa Cymru's corporate objectives1.
