Why this role is important for CPI's work:
CPI has an opportunity for an experienced and proactive Warehouse Team Leader to join the team. You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and efficient warehousing and inventory control in support of project delivery.

You will also manage compliance with the required safety, housekeeping, Health and Environmental (SHE), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Data Integrity (DI), and quality systems within the warehouses, working closely with the CPI Safety and Compliance managers.

In this role you will work with multiple businesses and projects, providing opportunity for knowledge and career development.

Key tasks in the role will include (but are not limited to) the below:

  • To maintain consistent and document compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Data Integrity (DI), quality and best practice requirements.
  • To ensure that full warehouse support and cover is provided for the Business Unit Directors, including goods receipt, warehouse stock control and reordering, and offer relief support in times of annual leave or absences across the different business units.
  • To manage compliance with the required safety, housekeeping and quality systems within the warehouses, working closely with the CPI Safety and Compliance managers. This includes generating and maintaining relevant SOPs to enable compliance and facilitate efficient operation.
  • To provide support on the control of dangerous goods, both into and out of CPI.
  • To lead team briefs and communications across the department and to support and lead colleagues within the team, sharing expertise and identifying development opportunities for others ensuring they are equipped to deliver consistent warehouse support to their platforms
  • To organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress and conducting periodic personal development reviews for all direct reports.
  • To motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Support the Warehouse Team in planning holidays, relief cover, completing timecards and general team planning.
  • Offer relief support in times of annual leave or absences across the different business units.

The person we are seeking:


We are looking for a proactive individual who has good co-ordination and time-management skills working in a diverse and fast paced environment, that is able to prioritise and work well under deadlines and pressure.


To be successful you should:

  • Experience in managing a team of of 5+ individuals, and a supervisory or management qualification.
  • Practical experience in running and managing in warehousing.
  • Training to City & Guilds Level 3 in warehousing.
  • Hold practical experience in running and managing a warehousing is essential.
  • Hold working knowledge of Orders and Inventory Control Systems packages e.g., SAP, Sage200 etc.
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Systems; Excel, SharePoint, Outlook.
  • Hold working knowledge of chemical materials handling.


It would be great if you also had a current Forklift Truck Licence, Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor Training, COSHH Dangerous Materials Handling and a working knowledge of procurement.
