It is a very exciting time to be joining the Endoscopy Team at North Middlesex university Hospital, the post holder will have day-to-day responsibility for providing a high-quality reception and clerical service to the Day Service Endoscopy Ward.

Ensuring that all patient attendances are accurately recorded on all appropriate hospital IT systems including our PAS called Medway.


The post holder will also be responsible for the timely and accurate checking in and out of patients, confirming attendances with patients.

They will also be responsible for answering the telephone along with liaising with the multi-disciplinary team, other departments and services to answer queries.

To ensure that all patient notes are available in a timely manner.


Duties include:


  • Reception cover acting as first point of contact to the unit
  • Recording of patient attendance onto the hospital administration system. Ensuring Patients details are accurate/up dated where required
  • Deal with Patient/Relatives enquiries.
  • To assist Clinical staff in nonclinical duties.
  • Liaise and provide information to a wide range of people, whilst adhering to the Data Protection Act.

Skills to include:


  • Computer literate excellent keyboard skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Understanding of Patient Confidentiality/Data Protection Act.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, whilst demonstrating a flexible approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic understanding of Medical Terminology.

This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19.

The 0-19 service aims to improve pathways and partnerships with services in the hospital and deliver excellent care for the children and families.
