You will be working with Senior tax consultants helping clients obtain tax relief for their scientific and creative endeavours so they can continue to invest in these important activities.
This will involve gathering technical information on cutting-edge innovations across a broad range of industries, preparing tax relief calculations, and writing technical reports.
Knowledge of R&D tax relief and preparation of Corporate Tax Returns combined with customer facing experience within the UK is a must for this role.
You'll support clients with claims for R&D Tax relief and Tax Credits whilst undertaking technical and financial assessment, liaising with tax offices, dealing with tax office enquiries, and managing clients.
The role is client-facing and relies on your ability to deal with senior technical people on a one-to-one basis, conducting structured interviews and writing high-quality technical reports.
Training will be provided on jurisdictions the consultant is not familiar with.
Partnerships will need to be developed for submissions in markets the firm is less familiar with, or where volume of claims are low.
- Analysis of a client's activities, accounts, and organisational structure to determine the potential scope and value of subsidies available to them.
- Undertaking or supporting interviews with the client's management teams and technical personnel to identify R&D projects and to establish whether the activities undertaken are eligible for the R&D tax relief.
- Supporting the development and implementation of best practices, process improvements, and quality assurance measures within the R&D tax team.
- Preparing schedules of qualifying costs and writing technical reports to demonstrate how the legislative requirements to claim the tax relief are fulfilled.
- Keeping at the forefront of thinking within the sector including attendance at industry conferences and technical forums and maintaining an uptodate overview of current and impending government policy.
- Develop partnerships and collaborations to expand submissions.
Qualifications:
bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, or a related field.
Industry Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in R&D tax credits, including substantial experience managing and reviewing R&D tax credit claims.
Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of R&D tax credit regulations, guidelines, and methodologies in the relevant jurisdiction(s). Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance requirements.
Communication Skills:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Client management:
Client-centric approach, with a focus on delivering excellent service and building long

Project Management Skills:
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
