Protocol Education, a leading educational staffing provider, is calling upon empathetic and dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Teaching Assistants to join our collaborative team.

Responsibilities:


  • Tailor personalized oneonone support to meet the unique requirements of students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and PMLD specialists to devise and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Support students in daily living activities, encompassing personal care, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance, ensuring their safety and overall wellbeing.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that actively promotes independence, communication, and social development.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and interdisciplinary team to continually assess progress, dynamically adjusting instructional approaches to address individual needs.
  • Facilitate the use of specialized equipment and resources, including sensory tools and communication aids.
  • Forge strong connections with parents and caregivers, maintaining transparent and open channels of communication.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in a role involving the support of individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities, preferably within an educational or care setting.
  • Indepth knowledge and understanding of various PMLD conditions and a diverse range of associated support strategies.
  • Showcase exceptional communication skills, demonstrating the ability to adapt communication methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Exhibit genuine compassion, patience, and empathy, embodying a steadfast commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, acknowledging that the role may entail working with students across different age groups and abilities.
  • Possess a valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or display a willingness to obtain one.
  • Hold relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
