CNC Team Leader

Pontypool

Permanent
Salary:
£35000 per annum inclusive of shift premium. Higher salary is available dependent on the level of experience.
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday, Days/Nights/Afternoons weekly rotation.
The main purpose of the role is to lead the shift team to ensure the production plan is achieved through the effective use of resources and production work flows.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
This role is responsible for the coordination and supervision of shift activities and people to ensure the successful achievement of the production plan and to:
- Provide senior technical support commensurate with
Lead Operative:
Machining (Senior Machinist) role/technical Level 3 competency on at least 2 or more machine types
- Manage the
Production Operatives:
Machining and Lead Production Operatives
- Liaise with Shift Coordinators, Production and Planning Leaders, Warehousing, Maintenance and other internal and external personnel to address/ resolve any issues or barriers that impact shift performance
- Effectively engage and communicate the requirements of the business, empowering team members to continuously and proactively improve machining methods and business processes

- Strong leadership skills and behaviours
- Able to lead by example
- Wellorganised, selfmotivated, reliable, flexible and adaptable
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to convey technical knowledge/ experience
- Ability to improve team performance
- Demonstrable experience in managing 'production flow' across Assembly area
Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience:
- Time served apprenticeship with relevant CNC or engineering based qualification at HNC level or above/ good standard of education plus extensive CNC knowledge, skills and experience
- HND or higherlevel qualification in Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering is desirable
- Significant Setter experience operating (4/5 axis) CNC metal milling and turning machines
- Demonstrable senior machinist level experience within production/ manufacturing industry
- IT Literate; experience of various software control systems is essential
- Previous Supervisory/ Shift Lead experience is essential
- Qualification in Team Leading/ Supervisory Management or similar is desirable
