Full-time (45 hours per week across 5-day working week)

Start Date:

Salary:
£65k - £75k per annum (5+ years experience in similar position required)


About Us


We are currently on the hunt for an experienced Senior Head of People & Culture to support a diverse team of almost 300 employees (split across 3 subsidiaries) in driving people strategy at Grind.

You will be very proactive, results driven, and have a very keen eye for detail.

The role


This role will require you to build and implement People initiatives, structure and strategies across 3 core businesses, acting as the escalated point of contact for our roastery, Brand/Marketing and High Streets teams.

You will be solely responsible for formulating and championing improved structural practices within 2 of our progressive teams whilst simultaneously ensuring that our High Streets people team are supported.


We expect that this new recruit will continue to develop our employee lifecycle within the roastery, Brand and Marketing sectors and drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion best practices within our working community.

Furthermore, you will need to demonstrate experience in building HR strategy from the ground up and competently report into our senior board team directors on a day-to-day basis.


Core responsibilities:


  • Provide 4 departmental heads, 3 directors & our CEO with daytoday support
  • Present key business people updates to monthly board meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews (incl. employee retention & employee turnover, sickness and Absenteeism reports)
  • Directly manage our People & Culture Manager and L&D Training Manager to ensure the people function operates efficiently within our High Streets division (comprised of approx. 230 employees)
  • Support our L&D Training Manager with training strategy
  • Provide daytoday support to a team of 45 employees within our Grind Coffee Roaster sector (Brand/Marketing & Roastery teams)
  • Manage and lead all escalated ER cases, advising our senior managers of best practice when it comes to our company policies
  • Manage all senior recruitment projects from attraction to onboarding and induction
  • Support our senior management team in organising quarterly KPI reviews, checkins and annual appraisals
  • Take full ownership of monitoring all claimed and unclaimed employee perks & benefits
  • Support People & Culture manager in completing one annual external HR audit
  • Drive company culture through promoting, reviewing and celebrating our core values to enhance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion within all sectors of the business ie. organise inhouse and external training
  • Provide and ensure the full protection of the business in keeping up to date with all People Legislation, and regular review of company policies where necessary to ensure the business and our people and their employee rights are safe and protected at all times

Skills, knowledge and experience requirements

  • Possess a strong level of HR knowledge and Comercial awareness
  • A proven track record in a similar Head of People & Culture role with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Possess a minimum of 5+ years experience in the HR sector
  • Have a strong level of HR knowledge including; Strategy, processes and process improvement
  • Have extensive experience working with HR systems (required)
  • Value reward and recognition and instilling these within teams
  • Ability to use HR data and analytics to look at trends and link to performance
  • Strong experience implementing effective Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) strategies
  • You should be extremely organised
