Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Salary:
£35,000 - £37,000 p/a + (Dependent on Experience)


Location:
Brighouse


Shifts: 7:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 11:00am Friday (40 Hours per Week) (+ 8 hours in the month worked over weekends)

Stafflex are currently working with a long-running well-established business, specialising in the production and manufacturing within liquid filling/FMCG.

Our client is a proud supplier to some of Britain's largest supermarkets and their aim is to consistentlydeliver high quality produce.

To help achieve this, we are currently looking to recruit a well-motivated and enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer - to join the team at the earliest opportunity.


Job role

The applicant should be looking to establish a long-term career with a long-standing business, in excellent working conditions as part of a close-knit team.

The successful applicant will be welding, pipe fitting, fitting & repairing pumps & valves and diagnosing& repairing electrics and motors.


Day-to-Day responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the production plant operates as efficiently as possible.
  • Working to a weekly Maintenance Schedule, agreed to monthly by the Works Manager.
  • Maintaining steam boilers and pressure vessels and organising checks by the boiler inspector.
  • Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
  • Implement strategies and procedures to improve reliability of plant.
  • Ordering spare parts and working within costing budgets.
  • Fitting new parts and monitoring machine changes.
  • Checking and calibrating instruments.
  • Completing Quality checks.
  • Dealing with reactive maintenance.
  • Responding to callouts.
  • Preventing downtime by liaising with production/engineering colleagues or suppliers
  • Dismantling machinery.
  • Arrange for replacement machinery

Minimum requirements:


  • 5+ Years' Experience within Maintenance.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Motors, Pumps and Gearboxes)
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering
  • Welding experience
  • Pipe fitting knowledge.
  • Experience in running and maintain
  • Problem solving

Desirable requirements:


  • FLT License


Due to the nature of the machinery, training is provided in specific areas but core experience in mechanical maintenance with knowledge of electrical maintenance is required.
