About Us:


FTM Dance is a
Performing Arts respite day service for adults, children and young people with disabilities, medical conditions and additional support needs.

FTM Dance provides performing arts and creative art related activities, sessions and workshops for individuals with a range of needs and abilities, including those with Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy and behaviours that challenge.


The Opportunity:


We're seeking qualified or experienced
Performing Arts facilitators to work with us on an exciting project, culminating in a show-stopping performance at Blackpool Tower in April 2023.


You will be responsible for the planning and delivery of relevant art (dance/drama/music) sessions to children, young people and/or adults with additional needs and/or disabilities, to promote and provide inclusive opportunities and experiences for all attending our service.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate exciting, new and fresh workshops for children, young people and/or adults with additional needs and/or disabilities, in dance, music or drama
  • Communicating effectively with other performing arts teachers working with FTM Dance, to ensure there is consistency in the delivery method of sessions.
  • Inform and prepare our Support Assistants to enable them to support their 1:1 service users in your workshops; informing them of the session content and any additional information required to ensure a successful session
  • Encourage participation in sessions through engaging delivery of content planned, adapting as necessary to meet individual needs that may arise
  • At all times promote and ensure a high standard of person centred care and the positive reputation of FTM Dance
  • At all times adhere to FTM Dance policies, procedures and systems to ensure a high level of service and care (e.g. Health and Safety, Risk Assessments, Safeguarding etc.)

Who are we looking for?


To be successful you must be a qualified performing arts specialist and have experience delivering workshops to those with additional needs or disabilities.

This is a freelance position for which we offer a competitive rate of £12.50 per hour.

COVID-19 considerations:
Due to the vulnerability of our users, face masks are required in this role. In addition sanitiser and PPE are provided on site to offer as much protection as possible.
