What you will be doing


We are looking to recruit a Senior HR Officer who has an ability and desire to work in a fast-paced professional services environment.

You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of UK employment law and the ability to handle complex ER cases whilst providing high quality advice and guidance through a business partnering approach.


The Senior HR Officer will manage the HR Assistant and work closely with the HR Director and colleagues in the wider HR team.

This is a good opportunity to work in an exciting business with a proactive HR team.

The Senior HR Officer role will include but is not limited to:

  • Acting as the HR representative on all complex employee relations cases including: disciplinaries, grievances, staff consultations (including redundancy, TUPE, restructures), short-term/long-term ill health, disability adjustments.
  • Providing advice and guidance to managers on managing poor performers, improving team performance and absence issues
  • Creating and update HR policies and maintain appropriate version control.
  • Supporting the HR Director with HR initiatives and projects
  • Representing the HR function in all audits
  • Being responsible for the HR Administrator and the provision of all their tasks.
  • Assisting with the improvement and development of reward and benefits processes
  • Producing HR KPIs and analyse information for trends to support initiatives, e.g. turnover trends
  • Taking on other reasonable duties as agreed with your manager.

What we will need from you

Essential:

  • Significant generalist experience at a senior professional HR level in a UK environment.
  • Experience at a senior professional level in HR
  • CIPD qualified to level 5 minimum, preferably level
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff within the organisation with excellent communication skill both written and verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate information is available for the business.
  • Up to date and demonstrable knowledge of UK employment law
  • Knowledge of HR good practice.
  • Ability to use HR Information systems, with at least intermediate MS Excel knowledge.
  • A selfstarter who is able to adopt a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced professional services environment balancing multiple priorities and ensuring delivery.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a professional services sector, ideally for a consultancy business.
This is a full time hybrid role working 2 days per week from our Birmingham office.
