Job Summary:


Sperry Rail (International) Limited is the world's leading supplier of ultrasonic rail inspection and provides this safety critical service to global railway clients.


SUMMARY OF POSITION:


Our Asset Controller will manage the end-to-end process of logistics and inventory, as well as being a precise and forward-thinking individual, they will also be responsible for the day-to-day workings of an intricate and well-defined logistics, inventory and production department.

They will be required to possess the knowledge implement new best practices whilst supporting the management team in driving internal and external customer satisfaction.


A key part of the role will be sending material around Europe and the applicant will need to have a good understanding of UK customs from Incoterms and commodity codes, and how to send and receive material within Europe.


Responsibilities:


  • Needs to have knowledge of customs from and to United Kingdom, and INCOTERMS and commodity codes within the European Union.
  • Orders for pick and pack for both international and UK logistics destinations and all attached paperwork that is required to ensure Custom paperwork is to legislative standard.
  • Record deliveries received and process in accordance with the relevant Work Instruction.
  • Receipt all external suppliers' information on data sheets provided (Fillymoe) for Production, Sales & Finance, and any other relevant department.
  • Raise purchase orders on demand from internal and external customers for stock associated with the entire Sperry inventory & consumables portfolio and record all movements through the Sperry procedures.
  • Booking all items onto Sage X
  • Issue and booking in of items.
  • Carry out monthly stock count in accordance with Month End and Year End schedules on all SKU variations within the whole inventory portfolio.
  • Carry out daily checks of the fault reporting system to identify requests for stock and process accordingly, ensuring the tasks are closed on the system once complete, whilst utilising the Piranha system as well as the Sage x3 ERP.
  • Collection of goods from other locations (Sperry or external suppliers) using the correct internal procedures. (E.G.DHL).
  • Control the movement of internal assets ensuring that all vehicles and staff have the equipment required.
  • Coordination with customers of Sperry Rail owned equipment including maintenance and calibration.
  • Liaise with suppliers on the servicing of Sperry products.
  • Organise the repairs to parts/assets replaced on the fleet in Track Labs / Workshop.
  • Maintain the Asset Management System, including the history of equipment at internal and external locations.

Our Requirements:


  • Previous Inventory and Logistics experience
  • Experience of UK and International Transport
  • Experience in EndtoEnd supply chain
  • Experience with a customer focused environment both internal and external
  • Intermediate level of computer skills, including experience with MS Office Programmes
  • Very high level of attention to detail
