Abatec is currently looking to recruit Trainee Highway Operatives based in Moreton-in-Marsh.

Full UK driving licence is required for the role.

As a Highways Operatives you will:

General maintenance of highway
Patchwork, tarmacing, landscaping, groundworks etc.
Unloading/loading of materials
Using various highways tools and equipment
Undertake out of hours winter maintenance and emergency works when needed
Undertake the gritting of the roads on your allocated route and all the associated activities required to deliver the Winter Service
Always ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act
Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect member of the public.

Skills and experience required:

Ability to take responsibility of traffic management.
Have the ability to deal effectively with peers, client representatives and the general public
Understand and follow basic work procedures to ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
CSCS card (Not essential)
Street works (Advantage)

All roles are Full Time Mon - Fri (plus overtime)
