Description

Hybrid role based in Swindon - 2 days a week required in the office.


As an integral part of the multi-function Data Engineering Team, you will design and use Testing techniques for the development of Openwork data structures that support Warehouse and Reporting output.

Your responsibilities as Data Test Analyst

  • Architect, manage, and maintain the testing principles that will govern and assure end to end quality for all data warehouse and reporting deliverables.
  • Design the test approaches and test strategies necessary to deliver continuous data warehouse and reporting iterations.
  • Develop specific test cases for data management / ETL / Report layer data consumption.
  • Execute test cases for data management / ETL / Report layer data consumption.
  • Identify, develop, and manage the regression test scripts.
  • Operate iterative test cycles.
  • Participate in defect triage meetings.
  • Define the environments and test data required for the different test phases for data deliverables.
  • Performance test ETL packages.
  • Validate data against the transformation and business rules in technical specifications, from source system to end report.
  • Work with the business Data Analysts challenging and seeking clarifications on the data mappings/ rules.
  • Work with the Business Analysts who will feed into the data transformation/ business rules.
  • Ensure quality is embedded and proven through testing at every stage of the delivery lifecycle.
  • Provide testdriven design input for all technical deliverables.
  • Participate in ensuring best practise is adhered to in the handling and management of data by the team.
  • Support other test team(s) within the organisation, e.g. SIT, UAT.
