Main Purpose of the role.


To become a trusted and integral people partner within the operational and support services management teams across different business sectors and regions of the Trust.

To build strong, effective professional relationships to support the identification and delivery of people solutions in a collaborative approach.

To be an ambassador of the Trust's identified culture and values and ensure these are embedded in people practices.


MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To effectively partner with operational and support service teams, particularly Regional/ Department and Service/Area Managers, to proactively identify solutions and initiatives in relation to people issues and activities that will deliver improved performance and business objectives. To develop and deliver people plans tailored to each service/department that enable the key identified people issues to be addressed, linking with HR colleagues as appropriate (i.e., L&D, Central recruitment)
  • To ensure delivery of departmental Service Level agreements.
  • To identify regional trends/issues and to highlight to the Director of People and Organisation Development and the People Business Partner Manager.
  • To understand and anticipate the need for change, diagnose the underlying issues and build the case for change with managers.
  • To build frameworks to plan and manage the continuous process of change including recognising and evaluating dependencies, risks, potential scenarios and determining options to mitigate them.
  • To role model great personal and team leadership and taking an active role in ensuring the People Partner model is embedded successfully within designated Regions/Departments.
  • To coach and build the capability of managers to anticipate and preempt people/organisational issues, challenging/influencing them where appropriate.
  • Participate in relevant projects, leading and championing as appropriate.
  • To provide effective professional human resources advice, influence, information, and support to Managers throughout the Trust.
  • To actively contribute to the development and provision of effective People related policies, procedures and practices that support the strategic aims of the Trust.
  • To contribute to effective change management solutions, ensuring consistent standards are maintained in line with relevant legislation.
  • To provide day to day leadership to drive delivery of the Trust's strategic people plan.
  • To actively manage and support Managers in complex employee relations casework, attending formal meetings as required.
  • To assist the People Business Partner Manager with Employment Tribunal cases as required.
  • To delegate to and support APAs with supporting on low to midlevel employee relations casework.
  • To actively support Managers with all people processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, probation, performance/talent management, development, absence etc.
  • To line manage, develop, and coach the Internal Investigating Officers, Assistant People Advisors and People Team Administrators reporting to this position.
  • To actively participate in the development of the People function within the Disabilities Trust.
  • To promote equal opportunities in accordance with Trust policy, employment legislation and best practice.
  • To undertake specific project work, as directed by the People Business Partner Manager/Director of People and Organisation Development.
  • To keep up to date with external trends and best practice in all areas of HR, particularly areas of allocated specialisms and to proactively identify changes required to policies, procedures and practices and communicate these two colleagues.
    PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, SUPERVISION AND TRAINING
  • Participate in regular support and supervision from line management.
  • Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise, attending and participating in learning and development events, meetings, conferences, and events (as requested/approved by line management) to ensure up to date knowledge relevant to the role.
